A dwarf Hammerer, one of the most stubborn ones of their kind - and his last gasps before he would be slain just as the rest of his brethren. But before that, he is sure to crack some skulls. He will never sell his skin easily.
Warhammer Fantasy Battle. Can be something else if you want, though.

Another derailment from the Bretonnian path. I wanted to do some dwarven piece, mainly because they are all ornate and inricate. This proved to be my biggest mistake...
All those celtic knots was a horrendous pain in the neck to draw, especially when one had to keep up with the perspective.
But putting that aside, it was nice to draw something architectural. Only geometry - mathematical, relaxing, predictable and easy to do. Sure a nice thing to do after redrawing a human face tousand times before achieving an acceptable level.
This piece was also a first experiment with a normal drawing ink, optionally mixed with water. Be sure to tell me if you like it or not.

Done with Sakura 0.05 and 0.1 pens, Staedler 0.2 and 0.5 pens and Koh-I-Noor drawing ink.

"Download" for higer (2300 x 3252) resolution.

The optional lineart is within my scraps.

Wonderful piece, and an inspiration for a character in an online DnD rpg I'm playing.

This is a truly fantastic Piece. The details may have been a pain but the quality of work clearly shows it was worthwhile.

Brilliant piece of art! I really love all of the details, as well as determined face of the dwarf. I really love all which is dwarven, in fact.

This is sweet. I love all the detail in the architecture. Very characteristic of Dwarven cities.

Awesome. Could almost be out of the armybook, but it'd be cool to have some form of indication of his imending doom. Corpses, shadows, or even just broken weapons, it'd be nice to see who was about to kill him.
Other than that, brilliant :)

~Kreia, one of the main reasons Knights of the Old Republic 2 is awesome and you should go play it.

O bogowie, ornamenty na ścianach swą dokładnością przyprawiają o opad szczęki! Niesamowita praca w ogóle ^^

This is a very evocative piece - the architecture and overall design has a brilliant sense of tangibility that is often lacking in published RP supplements, especially when the illustrations are black and white. Regarding the narrative, could you have even more markers of the impending doom of this dwarf? Perhaps some shadows leaning towards the warrior from the watcher's point of view (judging by the lighting)? Well, I know it's a cliché, of course, but still...
